Carolina Trace Lake Course is just 18 holes of this 36 hole private golf community. Designed by Robert Trent Jones the Lake Course opened in 1971. The Lake Course meanders through 315 acres of Lake Trace with such stunning views that maintaining focus on your round can be difficult. The course provides five sets of tees, Black, Blue, White, Gold, and Red, so there is something for golfers of all skill levels. The large fairways are Bermuda grass with the greens featuring Mini-Verde, an ultra-dwarf Bermuda. The Lake Course greens were renovated with Mini-Verde in 2011. The Lake Course layout features beautiful views along with it's championship design and notably on the 6th and 8th holes, each a par three with dramatic downhill tee shots. The 13th hole is also a par three, with the vast expanse of Lake Trace as a panoramic background. The Lake Course features a pair of par fives on the back nine, the 14th and 18th holes, which provide high risk, yet high reward options for reaching the green in two big shots. Both the 14th and 18th holes are lined with water on one side with an inlet of Lake Trace to contend with on the second shot. An added challenge to the 18th hole is the 80-foot drop in elevation over its 507-yard layout, makes this a great finishing hole.
