The Preserve Golf Club is evidence of Jerry Pate's belief that a golf course should enhance the natural aesthetic of the land and provide flexibility of shot values. The 18-hole public course, designed by the U.S. Open champion and award winning golf course designer, is adjacent to an 1,800-acre nature preserve. Mossy, majestic live oaks reach out over the golf course, and tall, slender long leaf pines line the generous fairways. Wild, wiry grasses disperse texture and color against the smooth, rolling greens. The uniquely Southern cypress swamps, marshy wetlands and pitcher plant bogs scatter the area, adding diversity to the landscape and challenge to the game.
The Bridges Golf Club at Hollywood Casino is Mississippi's only Arnold Palmer signature championship golf course and the first resort course in the world to be granted the Audubon Silver Signature Status by Audubon International.Ranked among the top 10 golf courses in the state by Golf Digest, Bridges is located in a unique setting on 160 acres. The golf course, which opened in 2006, was named for the 21 wooden bridges that span almost one mile over 17 lakes and 14 acres of marsh, wetlands and luscious fairways.
Windance Country Club situated on rolling terrain just a few miles from the Gulf of Mexico, has been referred to as the "Gem of the Mississippi Gulf Coast."The 18-hole semi-private course, designed by Mark McCumber, opened in 1986. Windance Country Club measures 6,659 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 129 and a 72.5 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels. Windance has played host to the Ben Hogan, Nike, and Senior Series Professional golf tours. It was selected as one of the state's top five courses by Golf Digest and Southern Golf Journal.
Shell Landing Golf Club opened in 2000, wraps around wetlands and natural areas. Water hazards are prevalent but not overwhelming throughout, coming into play on eight holes.Designed by Davis Love III, the 18-hole golf course measures 7,024 yards from the longest tees. The course rating is 73.2, and it has a slope rating of 128. Golf Digest named Shell Landing among America's Best New Courses of 2002. The January 2003 issue ranked the course No. 5 in America in the Best New Upscale Public category. It was the only one in the top five located in the South.
